"This (Hot Fun) was influenced a bit by Sly Stone - 'Hot Fun' is a reference to their track Hot Fun In The Summertime. It was actually about me and my best friend Tony, who was in the Q-Tips, when we spent the summer of 1976 down in Cornwall. It was an absolute heatwave, and it was the best summer that a young kid could possibly have. I wanted the line to be, 'I remember the summer of 1976', but it was too much of a mouthful so it became, 'I remember a happy time'." - Quote by Paul Young, May 2013, from the liner notes of the 2-CD collection Remixes And Rarities first released in 2013 by Cherry Pop Records, Cat.
