Don't Leave Me This Way is a song written by Kenneth Gamble, Leon Huff & Cary Gilbert. It was first recorded by Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes in 1975 with Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals. The song was later covered by Thelma Houston and included on Any Way You Like It, an album first released in 1976. Don't Leave Me This Way was also covered by the Communards in 1986.
