"When we did this track (I Was In Chains), I was influenced by Ry Cooder's acoustic period, in particular his soundtrack to The Long Rider, where he explored early American folk music - the kind of thing the cowboys might have been playing and listening to. I wanted to have those Celtic overtones on I Was In Chains and we explored the idea of getting The Chieftains in, but I couldn't believe how much they were quoting to do it!
