Everlasting Love, a song written by James "Buzz" Carson and McGavock "Mac" Gayden, was first recorded by Robert Knight in the late '60s. The title of the song is from a line in the Bible, under Jeremiah 31:3, "I have loved you with an everlasting love".

Over the years, the song has been covered by other artists who have had varying degrees of success with their versions. One artist to cover Everlasting Love in the 80's is Vicki Sue Robinson who in 1983 released her remake on New-York based record label, Profile. In 1995, Gloria Estefan, a former member of The Miami Sound Machine who in the late '80s had hits with Conga and Rhythm Is Gonna Get You, also released a cover of Everlasting Love.

Sandra released her cover of Everlasting Love, a song previously unreleased, in 1987 to tie-in with the release of her first Greatest Hits album, Ten On One (The Singles).
