Someone For Me (Alan Coulthard Remix) – Whitney Houston

N.B. Someone For Me (Alan Coulthard Remix) is the same mix as Someone For Me (Remix) that may be found elsewhere on this blog.

"Thanks to Steve Anderson for reminding me of this one - my remix of Whitney Houston's 'Someone for Me' - I think the only song she ever released that wasn't a hit! (am I to blame?!!!) I think this was mixed from a 72 track tape (pretty unusual then?) using a SSL desk (which allowed complete digital recall of a mix - nowadays the norm using any program such as Logic and Cubase but not so then of course). This was fortunate as when I did the mix first, I left out part of the song because I thought it made the mix too long. Clive Davis (legendary US executive also seen on American Idol more recently and Whitney's mentor) loved my mix but asked me to go back in the studio to add the missing section, Thank goodness we didn't have to set up the whole mix again and get all the levels/effects the same! Using the SSL desk this didn't take long at all. " - Quote from a Facebook post by Alan Coulthard on 30 January 2016. Check out full quote here.
